Swelling in pregnancyFrom: AMD (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 16 Apr 1999 17:40:34 -0500 (CDT)
I saw my doctor Tuesday and when he checked for swelling in my legs, he said it wasn't bad, only "half a dent". My BP was fine. But the last couple of days, it seems like my ankles are **really** swelling up during the day, and not completely going down overnight. I got up this morning and still couldn't see my ankle bones. Is this just normal pregnancy swelling (28 weeks)? Or should I at least get my BP checked? It just got to 90 degrees here this week -- could this cause the major increase in swelling? I don't recall my ankles swelling like this with my first pregnancy. What might help reduce the swelling, or at least help it go down overnight? I drink at least 2 qt of water a day and try to sleep on my side. I still have two months of summer in Phoenix -- I'm afraid I won't be able to walk if the swelling just gets progressively worse. Thanks, Andrea EDD 7/7/99
