Andrea; Not a sure bet the fetus will stay vertex (head down). About 30% are breech at 28-30 wks, but only about 5% at term. Thus, a whole lot of shaking going on ;^{]. As for the vaginal exams, sounds like your new OB is being very conservative, and wants to check you sooner rather than later because of your early delivery last pregnancy. Sounds to me like a very prudent thing to do. Good Luck.
