I nervously answer an anaesthetic question being an obstetrician but the anaesthetists at the units I have worked at will happily give epidurals with low platelets but not if they are very low. The normal is greater than 150, Greater than 80 they are always happy. Less than 30 they are never happy.

With respect to Hb. A low haemaglobin on it's own is not normally a problem
