Can you still have an epidural when your Hg level is low???From: Sharizad (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 7 Apr 1999 23:54:17 -0500 (CDT)
I was reading through the birth stories on the net and I came across one story of a lady who was not given an epidural because she has low platelet level. The reason given - she could bleed into her spinal column and become paralyzed! How true is this??? I really would like to know because there is a high likelihood that I would be induced - I am two days past my due date already and still no sign I will go into labour naturally. So I am planning to have an epidural if I were to be induced. But my Hg level is very low about 8.0 - My question is - Am I a candidate for epidural??? Really hope for an answer! Thanks in advance! Izad
