Confusing screening resultsFrom: gill (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 2 Apr 1999 12:33:25 -0600 (CST)
I had a nuchal thickness scan at 13 weeks, this gave me a 1 in 700 risk of Downs (low for my age - 33). However, my triple test gave me a 1 in 150 chance. Also an ultrasound scan at 16 weeks picked up an 'echogenic bowel' - which ma be an indicator for Downs ? How much does this observation increase my 1 in 150 chance ? Any views appreciated.
