I was terrified at the time, since I was CONVINCED I knew exactly when I ovulated, so I figured, if there was no heartbeat or fetal pole at that point (what I believed was 6 weeks), then surely I had a blighted ovum. Like your doctor, mine wasn't worried. He just said to come back in 10 days, which I did, certain it would be to face bad news. Well, there was the heartbeat and the fetal pole, and all was fine. This is not to say that your situation is exactly the same as mine, but I do know that a woman can THINK she is 6 weeks pregnant but really be 5 weeks and a few days, and that can make all the difference.
