Re: Yeast Infection

I'm not a doctor, but I am 32 weeks pregnant and had a yeast infection during both of my pregnancies. First of all, you can probably blame your yeast infection on the antibiotics you took for your UTI. Now, with regard to finally getting rid of this annoying yeast problem, I would bet that you need something stronger than Monistat. Trouble is, the prescription yeast medication that I took is not considered safe during the first trimester of pregnancy (I took it when I was 28 weeks pregnant).

Ask your OB if you can stop trying to treat the yeast infection for the time being and instead just rely on something to make the symptoms feel better. Then, when you are far enough past the first trimester, perhaps you can take a stronger prescription yeast medication and get rid of the yeast effectively.

Best of luck!
