Re: Heparin during pregnancy, do I really need it???From: anonymous@obgyn.netSun, 28 Mar 1999 18:41:30 EST
I'm not an expert of any kind but I had severe preeclampsia (HELLP Syndrome) with my pregnancy and there have been studies linking PE to clotting disorders including Protein C deficiency and Factor V Leiden gene. I would consider yourself fortunate for having this knowledge and take the heparin as a precaution. My daughter and I are fine but I had her by emergency c-section at 33 weeks and she had to stay 2 weeks in NICU. Good luck. Lori
