I can tell from my experience that the sun can be particularly harmful when pregnant. In my sixth week of pregnancy I went on a vacation to the Bahamas. For the first few days I religiously used 15 SPF sunblock, but still ended up burning (quite severly). I ended up switching to a 45 SPF sunblock, and still believe or not was tanning. In the past I have never been one to burn, and if in the rare situation that I got a little red, within 24 hours, it would have turned into a tan. Not when I am pregnant! I asked my Dr. about it and she said that your pigmentation increases during pregnancy, and this can lead to darkening on the skin, moles, freckles, and other problems. By adding sun to the formula, you could be putting yourself unecessarily at risk. This is only from my experience, but I wouldn't definently suggest that you take precautions in dealing with the sun while pregnant. Good luck in your pregnancy!
