Increase your fiber, drink lots of fluids, don't strain when you have a BM, wash the area thouroughly but gently-maybe buy yourself some of those flushable baby wipes and get some witch-hazel soaked pads(check your pharmacy). The pads will soothe the area. I would have DIED if I didn't have those after #2 was born.
