31 Weeks Pregnant and Have HemorroidsFrom: lauren (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 22 Mar 1999 09:48:08 -0600 (CST)
At least I think it's hemorroids: I was soaping up in the shower when I noticed that the entrance to my rectum is swollen (but only on the upper hemisphere - the part is connected to the perineum. Later I noticed that the area is slightly tender and after having a bowel movement, the area is slightly itchy. I called my OB and described this and he told me it was hemorroids. I did not have hemorroids in my first pregnancy, but I was told that I had developed a small hemorroid from pushing out the baby. I never particularly noticed it, but then, the area was swollen and tender in general down there after giving birth (although no episiotomy). Now I dread going to the bathroom and taking a shower. I can't stand touching the area. And I am so afraid that this will not go away before I have to push out another baby. Any advice would be appreciated.
