Re: labor induction at 41.5 wks vs expectant managementFrom: Anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 16 Mar 1999 19:49:40 -0600 (CST)
Dear BJ and Margo, A friend of mine (lamaze instructor) racked up 10 WEEKS of overdue time amongst all of her 5 children. All were born without complications and the easiest was her 2nd- born 3 weeks overdue. Each time she knew her conception date and wasnt worried. My strictly non medical opinion is that if the ultrasound shows good fetal signs and plenty of amniotic fluid why not wait and let nature take its course. Margo your body knows when its ready, and remember once you start down the path of interventions (inductions etc) they dont slow down or lesson. One usually leads to another and another ... GOOD LUCK Anne N.
