Any way to increase the odds of having twins?

Hi!

I would like to have twins and am wondering whether there is anything that I can do (other than fertility drugs) to increase my chance of conceiving twins.

Some back information: I am almost 37, in good health, and already have a 6 1/2 year old boy, and 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old girls. Our oldest child was not planned, but our second child was conceived on our first try, and for our third we tried the "choose the sex of your child" method and got the girl we "chose" after our first try. I have usually had regular and predictable menstrual cycles, and believe that I am very fertile. My maternal grandmother is a fraternal twin. Our kids were big as newborns (8-9 lbs.) and are smart, healthy, and happy. We love being parents. I endured 4 1/2 long months of round-the-clock nausea with all thre pregnancies, so "two kids for the pregnancy of one" sounds like a good deal to me. Although the pregnancies were pretty miserable, there was nothing risky or dangerous.

A fertility-knowledgeable friend suggested that I could have an ultrasound at the time of ovulation to see if 2 eggs were being released, and if there were, I could try to conceive then to increase my chance of having twins. (We are not in a big rush to conceive.) I asked an OB-GYN friend about this and he explained that even if 2 eggs were released, that doesn't mean that they would be fertilized or thrive, but he suggested that I query this forum for more information. Do you know whether this, or any other "natural" method, might make conceiving twins more likely? FYI, we would like twins, but would also be very happy with another single birth.

I am interested in any ideas that you have. Thank you for your time and consideration!
