kidney ultrasoundFrom: Lynne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 27 Feb 1999 10:30:11 -0600 (CST)
I am 32 years old and 20 weeks pregnant with my first child. At the conclusion of my Level I ultrasound yesterday, the technician scanned my kidneys, and found urine in my left kidney, a condition she said is "common" during pregnancy. My bladder was painfully full during the ultrasound. My concern is heightened by the fact that as an infant, I had a reflux which led to a history of kidney infections as a child and recurrent UTI's as an adult. Should I be concerned that my reflux has returned or is this related to the pregnancy as the tech suggested? My pregnancy, in my doctor's words, is otherwise "boringly normal," and I have not had any symptoms of a UTI or kidney infection. Thank you for any insight you can provide!
