I don't know if the norm is different where you're located, but I don't see why you need to schedule an appointment with your OB/GYN just to have the blood test. Why can't you just schedule a lab-only visit and not see the doc? You'd probably get your blood test a lot sooner that way. Early prenatal care is important, so I think it's not unreasonable for you to be able to just get the test (probably a quantitative-hCG serum test, which would tell you the level of the pregnancy hormone in your blood) as soon as possible, especially since your last LMP was December. Regarding "pregnancy symptoms," I've always thought it was nature's cruel joke that so many such symptoms mirror PMS/menstrual symptoms! But for me, I had extreme fatigue and early nausea with all my pregnancies. That's not too specific, I know (since it could just be a stomach bug! argh) but I figured I'd let you know. Good luck - I know the wondering and waiting must be awful!
