The reason I did not have a D & C is because after my doctor gave me two weeks to miscarry naturally, she did a sonogram and saw that I had no tissue left. (It turned out that the day after the sonogram, I passed tissue. I may have absorbed some too.) Since then I think I've ovulated (clear discharge & other syptoms), and I'm just getting done with something that resembles a light period (brown, mucus-like discharge and light cramping). But I never had chills or achiness. Did you have a fever? My doctor warned me of that. My personal opinion is that you've waited long enough and you should have a sonogram (abdominal and vaginal if necessary) right away to see what's left. D & Cs are not always necessary and not done as much as they used to be, but I think you still should be wary of infection. It shouldn't be such a big deal for you to get a sonogram to get it checked out. That's just my two cents. Good luck to you. I feel for you. -Mary G.
