I need advice! 7 weeks LMP, 5 weeks DPO. HCG levels way below normal. Nothing on ultrasound. From: anonymous@obgyn.netWed, 24 Feb 1999 08:22:10 -0600 (CST)
I tested positive on cycle day 28, 14 days after ovulation. I was doing basal charts and opk, so do doubt about dates. I started spotting a little the day I tested positive and it lasted 5 days. My HCG levels have been increasing gradually, but not doubling every 2 days. At the six week LMP ultrasound the technician could find nothing. Not even a sac. My HCG level was only 2200 at 32 days after ovulation (46 days LMP). My doctor thinks this means the embryo is not developing normally and will probably miscarry eventually. He's not ready to offer a D&C while there is some doubt. I agree with him. We are doing another ultrasound at 53 LMP, 39 DPO. If there is still no heartbeat, he will do a D&C that day. If there is a heartbeat, I will be in constant fear of abnormal development for the next 8 months. Can an embryo implant a week or more later than normal and still be ok? Is it likely that I will miscarry?
