I too was found to have a large cyst upon an ultrasound at 6 wks into my pregnancy. The cyst measured 7.8 cm and was determined to be fluid filled. It grew to 8.4 cm. My doctor continued to monitor via ultrasound and advised about the possibility of surgery after 12 wks. Fortunately at my last doctor visit and last ultrasound the cyst had since shrunk to 4.5 cm. I am now 14 wks along & doing much better. Surgery is no longer a probability. Still have occassional pain in hip and left pelvic area but overall feel much better. Hope all turns out well for your cousin.
