A little anecdote: my son was transverse at 38 weeks. I delivered him vaginally at 39 weeks. He went head down on his own at some point in between. My OB did have an ultrasound performed to make sure there wasn't an obvious reason he was transverse such as placenta previa. Try not to worry-you still have time:)
