Fibroids and Pregnancy

I am 12 weeks pregnant and after my first ultra sound have been told that I have a fibroid at the back of my uterus.

While this is not causing any problems at the moment, I have been told that due to increased levels of eostrogen it is likely that the fibroid will grow. And "could" cause complications such as miscarriage in the 2nd trimester, or in the event that I carry the baby to term, it may block the birth canal, and therefore require a c section. Is it all bad news? Am I destined to not have a healthy baby?

I could really do with some inforamtion!

Do you have any information that I can read that will give me more of an understanding on fibroids and pregnancy. I have surfed the net, and find only info on fibroids but not a great deal relating to pregnacy.

I am a little frightened, but could use some help in boosting my confidence.

This is my first pregnancy and i am 33yo.
