After I submitted that question, I remembered that I had another home pregnancy test come back positive about five years ago, again when I wasn't pregnant. I've taken HPTs on a few other occasions and had them turn up negative. Is there any reason an HPT would give a false positive result? I understand the tests are positive when they detect the hormone produced in pregnancy. Am I producing that hormone??? Also, I have an eight-year-old son, and I nursed him until he was three months old. I had a small amount of breast milk until this past September when I started taking birth control pills. Are those two things related? (The positive HPTs and maintaining breast milk) Should I be concerned? Thanks for your prompt reply on the other!
