My condolences on your losses -- I had infertility and 2 miscarriages before having a successful pregnancy and, now, a beautiful, healthy, wonderful daughter so I know how you feel. I strongly believe that all couples should be offered the wor up for repeated miscarriage after 2 in a row. In addition to tyroid tests and an HSG, both you and your husband should be offered chromosome testing and you should have screening for antiphospholipid syndrome. A reproductive endocrinologist may be the best bet to do this work up, especially as you have some trouble conceiving too.
and also i am wondering if now with 2 miscarriages is
>there a higher chance for a third? Yes, but not terribly high. About 20% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage (it's about 40 -50% of all conceptions). After 2 miscarriages, hte risk of a third is in the 20 - 30% range. Most women will go on to have a child without any intervention at all. The work up for miscarriage may not yield an answer, it it may be expensive, but I believe it should be offered. I know for me, it helped, at least emotionally. I don't know whether the treatment I had for a very mild abnormality on testing is the reason I am holding my daughter as I type this, but if it was, then I'm sure glad I found out before suffering another loss. And even if I had miscarried despite treatmetn, I would have felt I had done everything in my power -- you should have the opportunity to make those sort of decisions for yourself, too. Best of luck in your quest to have a child. The road can be long and full of bumps, but if you can have a child, it is more than worth it.
