Another miscarriage?From: G. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 19 Jan 1999 22:02:05 -0600 (CST)
My sister has suffered 4 miscarriages in 2 years. All but 1 miscarriage occurred only days after discovering she was pregnant. She is now 8 weeks pregnant and taking 2 injections per day of heparin and progesterone suppositories. An internal sonogram at 7 weeks showed a normal fetus and heart beat of 125. Today (at 8 weeks), she had another internal sonogram showing the fetus is the exact size it should be but the physician had difficulty finding the heartbeat. Once the heartbeat was found, the beats were only 50. She has not experienced any miscarriage symptoms and her weekly blood hormone was normal. Is this a sign of an impending miscarriage or is it normal to have a very low heart rate one week and have it increase the next? Thank you for your response.
