HSG versus Hysteroscopy

What are the pros and cons of an HSG (dye test) as compared to a hysteroscopy in determining the presence, location and size of fibroids? I have been pregnant twice so don't need to see if the fallopian tubes are blocked. Is one test more accurate or detailed than the other? Do either have any particular possible detrimental side effects? Thanks.
