I need to know if I' can assume I've had a period soon after missed miscarriage and D&C.From: anonymous@obgyn.netMon, 28 Dec 1998 11:01:05 -0600 (CST)
For my first pregnancy, OB gave me Clomid to improve ovulation, as I had "luteal phase defect." It worked. I have a daughter at age 36. I'm now almost 38. I charted for several months when I was ready to get pregnant again, and saw ovulation on day 14 or 15, but temps dropped a few days later and cycle started 9-11 days after ovulation. OB gave me Clomid to use again at start of next cycle, but that cycle never started, as I turned out to be pregnant. I never took the Clomid. I noticed my pregnancy symptoms disappear at about 3 1/2 weeks after conception. At 4 weeks after conception I went for an ultrasound and learned the embryo was not developing and had no heartbeat. I had a D&C the next day. My OB said to wait until the D&C bleeding stopped, and then I could take the clomid after my second period. I bled for 11 days after the D&C, with days 9 - 11 just brown light staining which dwindled down to nothing. Then on day 12 I got bleeding just like a period. (On that day, my doctor said it is possibly my period, but not likely. He told me to just pay attention and see what happens and start charting again.) It lasted 5 1/2 days, following the same pattern my period usually does. Now, 14 days later, I have an LH surge showing on an OPK, just like I normally would. Now my question... Did I have one period already, and does that mean I can start taking the Clomid on day 5 of my next period, which I would expect about 12 days from now? Can I start trying again then?
