Hi

placenta accreta has been diagnosed prenatally with sonography and MRI. however, the predictive values of either test have not been worked out. also, just because something can sometimes be diagnosed doesn't mean it will always be diagnosed. your OB knows this and probably will be prepared. so be prepared for the worst and hope for the best since the odds are in your favor. sorta like carrying an umbrella on a day when the weatherman says chance of rain - if you carry the umbrella, it is invariably sunny. the day you leave the umbrella home, THAT's when it seems to pour.
