Fetal HeadFrom: Allison (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 15 Dec 1998 16:04:25 -0600 (CST)
Yes, my name is Allison Ramper. I am 27 weeks along in this pregnancy and my husband and I are concerned about enlarged ventricles in the brain. We had our second ultrasound done today and the measurements were anywhere from 10.3 milimeters to 11.6 milimeters. The doctor said he wasn't real concerned but we should have a third ultrasound done in 4 weeks to make sure the ventricle isn't getting any larger. My question is this: What could be the result or the effect on the baby if the ventricles continue to enlarge? Also, will this cause the baby any permenant damage? One more thing, I had a triple mark test for birth defects and it came back negative so why didn't this problem show up? Please get back to me as soon as possible with answers to my questions. Also, if there is any addresses that I could refer to for more information about the topic, please let me know. My email address is: pawa@panetwork.com
