hcj injections w/ infertilituyFrom: Audrey (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 15 Dec 1998 11:13:50 -0600 (CST)
I have a friend who I've been monitoring for ovulation with ultrasound. In the past three months she has nover spontaneously ruptured the follicle. It has grown to 4-4.5 cm and then slowly deflated before starting her menses. Her blood work has also confirmed this. The Doctor she is working with does not do much w/ infertility except for prescribing clomid and some patient education. If after a year they don't become PG he refers them to another physician. In our rural setting that may be 200 miles away. Previously before coming to Montana I worked at an infertility clinic and remember in situations like my friend who is not ovulating the Doc. would give an HCG injection to cause ovulation when a follicle reaches 18-20mm. In discussing this w/ the Doctor he said literature he has read does not support HCG to prompt ovulation. I would like some surrent info on this topic. And also any other ultrasound info regading color doppler w/ infertility. Thanks for any help you can give me. Sincerely, Audrey Mendenhall RDMS<RDCS<RVT Butte Montana
