Re: decaf coffee during pregnancyFrom: Dr. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 14 Dec 1998 17:19:54 -0600 (CST)
Is it o.k. to drink decaffinated coffee during pregnancy? what about hot chocolate or cocoa? We decaffinated through our first pregnancy. All three have been fine!! I cannot see a reason to restrict yourself either way with caffeine or without and certainly no reason to avoid cocoa or hot chocolate! There was some data in the british medical journal, more speculative than decisive, a few years ago linking newborn crying with caffeine intake. Enjoy
