HCG Level of 2.42?

I am currently 21 weeks pregnant and feel great. I had an AFP test done during my 16th week in which the results of my HCG level was 2.42. My RNP said that anything above 2 is high and shows possiblility of a high risk pregnancy.

What does this number mean and how accurate is it? I don't want to stress myself out over 'nothing'. She did mention something about the placenta detaching from the uteris and I am very frightened.
