Help! Hip pain...From: Brenda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 9 Nov 1998 14:26:11 -0600 (CST)
I am really hoping someone can help. I am almost 28 weeks preg. I am only @ 5 feet tall. I have a belly that is absoultly enormous but only have gained 16 lbs. My problem is : I am having excruciating pain in my hips and upper pelvis bone area. It is not the common round ligiment pain.I have that as well, but can disquinish between the two different pains. This hip pain is not mentioned in any book or info I have consulted. It is bearable during the day Standing is ok, and sitting for short periods too, but at night when lying down, it gets so agonizing I am waking up every 20-30 minutes. (when lying on either side. Lying on my back is ok for this hip pain but then, because of the decreased blood sply I get dizzy and nauesatedUpon awaking, I flip to the other side and try to fall back to sleep but then about 1/2 hour later the new side hurts. After a few hours both hurt simultanously and there is no way to ease the pain and go back to sleep. Because of this hip pain, eventhough I am in bed for @9-10 hours/night I am getting MAYBE 5 hours of sleep. The little sleep can not be good either, can it? Can anyone tell me what this hip pain is from? Is this pain indicating a harm to my baby? Is there anything I can do to ease it? Any help would be very much appreciated!
