Internal exam and measuring about 6 weeks bigger.

This is my first time posting. I was wondering if anyone has measured 4-6 weeks bigger by an internal exam. At my first visit I was 6 weeks but when my doctor did an internal she said I was measuring about 6 weeks further along than that. That would have had me measuring at about 12 weeks. This is my thrid pregnancy, and I wasn't sure if it was because it was not my first or if I could in fact be a few weeks further along. If I would be that far along then I really do not understand why I had a period the month before. My doctor is going to do an U/s in a few weeks, and I trust him 100%. I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience and was in fact further along. Thanks!
