2 consecutive miscarriagesFrom: Susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 Oct 1998 13:51:10 -0600 (CST)
Hello. I am looking for advice. I am 30 years old and I have experienced two consecutive miscarriages in the past seven months. The first occurred in April. Problems are estimated to have started in my eight week. The ultrasound revealed that the pregnancy sack was empty--indicating that the embryo did not "build" properly. I underwent a D&C. I became pregnant again in August. I miscarried naturally in late September. The ultrasound had revealed an embryo and I miscarried before a heartbeat was detected. I just got my period on Saturday. My doctor told me that it is fine to try to conceive with this first cycle since my blood tests have all concluded negative. In other words, there does not seem to be anything obviously wrong with me--I have just been a victim of bad luck. My question is: What can I do differently this time? I would like to start trying to conceive right away but feel uncomfortable proceeding just as before. Is there anything I can do or should request from my doctor at this point? I feel that I should be proactive in ensuring the best scenario with this next attempt. Thanks in advance for your help.
