Vbac after 3 sectionsFrom: Robin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 24 Oct 1998 16:38:02 -0500 (CDT)
I'm now pregnant with my 5th child. My history includes two c-sections (one for active herpes and the second was a repeat), a VBAC, and then another section. My children have all been large, 9lb 15, 9lb 13, 9lb 14, and 11 lb 9. I have not suffered from gestational diabetes. I'd very much like to deliver my current child naturally, with as little intervention as possible. However, I've been advised to expect internal fetal monitoring, possibly an epidural cath as well as an IV. I am not convinced that any of these are really necessary, and in fact they might decrease my chances of delivering normally. I'm writing to discover if there are people who read this forum who would care to share their experience with women who have proven that they can deliver vaginally, but who have had 3 or more previous sections. How was their labor managed and what interventions were considered necessary? Thanks, Robin
