Dilantin & PregnancyFrom: mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 19 Oct 1998 10:43:45 -0500 (CDT)
I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and recently put on 300mg of dilantin daily due to partial seizures that are starting to generalize. I have concerns about the baby. I feel the effects of the drug, as I am sure she does. She does not kick half as much as she used to. I have also read many things about the ill effects of Dilantin on the baby. Is there anything I can do to make things as good as possible for the baby now. I am sure the doctors will do all they can to insure a healthy baby, but is there anything I can do that would help the baby specifically? Thank You
