I am in Russia, my wife is in hospital and is 5 months pregnant. Her doctor has said that she could have a spontaneous abortion and that we should obtain a device to insert in her uterus to help prevnt this. The problem is that the doctor does not know the western name for the device and says that it is not available in Russia. I therefore am desperately trying to find one in the west but not knowing the name it is proving very difficult.

The device is apparently in a figure of 8 shape and about 4-5 inches (10-12 cms) long and about 1-2 inches (3.5 to 5cms) wide.

Can anybody help me identify this?
