Dear Chris; Most colds are simple Influenza A viral infections and require little more than symptomatic relief. Vitamin C, fluids, decongestants, tylenol, and rest should be sufficient. Be watchful for a sinus or bronchial spread that may be indicative of a secondary bacterial infection. This may require addition of an antibiotic.
