Group B Strep in pregnancyFrom: Nancy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 30 Sep 1998 21:44:54 -0500 (CDT)
I lost my first baby last year to a GBS infection. I was 41 weeks at the time of labor and it had apparently entered my uterus without my water breaking. I am now 35 weeks pregnant again and have had two negative cultures this time. I was just cultured again, and I was wondering if it comes up positive, should I have oral antibiotics at that time?? I am having a scheduled c-section at 38 weeks and will have IV antibiotics before the surgery. I am just scared to death that it might be too late by then, as I had the antibiotics at labor last time. Thank you so much for your time!! Nancy
