I will defer to the others on the contraception question, but I do have a comment about the nipples. This may sound odd, but I have relatively pale skin. My nipples did get darker while I was pregnant, but as soon as the baby was sucking on them, that part turned pink again. I think a lot of it depends on your complexion. Forgive me if this is too much information...
