Pregnancy Tests & HCG Level 'Mystery'From: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 25 Sep 1998 16:17:50 -0500 (CDT)
After trying to get pregnant for 5 months, I am now pregnant. My LMP was Aug. 17 and calculated conception date was Aug. 28/29 based on my cycle length. However two urine pregnancy tests (one at a medical lab on Sept. 8, and the other at my doctor's office on Sept. 18) were negative. I had another urine test and a quantitative blood test on Sept. 23 and both were positive, with the blood test showing a level of hcg as 1,302. Why would the 2 earlier tests have showed as negative? Is the hcg level of 1,302 normal (at about 27 days post conception)? Thank you.
