Dear Anneminke

The most important part of deciding whether to have an invasive test and if so which one is to spend time with a specialist who spends the majority of their time providing fetal medicine services. Only with a recognised specialist can you ask the questions you need to ask and get informed answers. The final decision must be yours based on the information you have been given and not the decision of the doctor!

A useful starting point is to ask how many procedures the doctor has performed and what their complication risk is.

I hope that you find a specialist near to you who can provide you with the information and procedure you want. Remember, be bold and ask questions.

Best wishes for you pregnancy
