Will an external version work with a bicornuate uterus?From: Lori (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 21 Sep 1998 08:36:19 -0500 (CDT)
Dear Doctors, I have seen several messages addressing ECV (external cephalic version) but I have never seen any particularly addressing the bicornuate uterus. I have a true bicornuate uterus and had to deliver my first child at 35weeks via c-section due to oligohyramnios and him being breech. They didn't attempt a trial of labor or induce me, I had no fluid so the baby was delivered in the most expeditious means possible. The brief reading I have done seems to indicate that fetuses in a bicornuate uterus run out of room to move so that an ECV may actually lead to uterine rupture. What are your thoughts on this? Is a VBAC with a bicornuate uterus possible? I don't see the maternal fetal medicine specialist for another month. FYI, I am now 22 wks with my 2nd child. Thanks Lori M
