Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the proper dosage for the capsules. I always recommend tincture form, as it is more effective. I would recommend that you talk to an herbalist about the best dosage of capsule. There isn't really much concern about overdose with Blessed Thistle, or negative side effects, but just to be on the safest side...

Not eating and drinking enough can DEFINITELY influence your milk supply. Don't worry about the extra weight right now. Your body NEEDS that to keep your milk supply up. Forcing yourself to eat and drink may be what you have to do if you want to keep your supply up. If you continue to have problems, I would suggest going to bed with your baby for 24 hours, even having someone else bring you food and drink. It can work wonders for a diminished supply, and is often recommended by lactations consultants and midwives. No scientific studies, though :)
