Tocolytics Do any Dr.'s use these??????????

I am hoping someone can give me an idea of how they have prescribed these. I posted this on other forum 2x also but haven't received a response as yet

I am curious as to when the earliest week of pregnancy tocolytics such as Brethine and Magnesium Sulfate can be used to slow down contractions that are causing cervical change. I am currently 18 weeks with a cerclage in place and so far stitch remains tight and cervix closed. On u/s however funneling has started to take place and cervix shortened since placement of stitch. Sometimes I can feel the Braxton Hicks but not anything regular that I could clock or chart. When I do feel them it is like menstral cramping. I am concerned because I am afraid its the silent contractions that I may not be feeling that are causing this cervical change. I asked my Docs about the tocolytics a few weeks ago and they said they don't find them useful before 24 weeks of pg. I would be curious to know if any of the Dr.'s here have used these early in pg and found them effective? Also what weeks of Pregnancy have you used them at? For now my Peri has me using Indocin on an as needed basis for uterine irritability, and the menstral like cramping which really gets going after internals to check stitch. Sometimes that med works but not always. Also for now I am flooding myself with fluids and hanging upside down from the ceiling!

Thanks for any of your personal experience you can share on this.

Jenn
