miscarriage and premenstrual spotting - is there a correlation?From: worried (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 1 Oct 2003 00:01:11 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I just had a missed miscarriage and had a d&c a few weeks ago. I am still spotting. Is this normal? I took a HPT and it came back negative. Does this mean that all my pregnancy tissues are out? I am concerned because the ultra sound scan showed that I still have a remains a couple of weeks ago (but the remains didn't seem to be connected to any blood flood so my doc thinks that they are blood clots). Is there anyway to make sure that my body is no longer in the pregnancy state or thinks that it is? After my miscarriage, I tried to find some answers but in the process, I came up with my questions. I was wondering if it is normal to have some premenstual spotting before my period comes. Sometimes, before my period comes, I spot for a couple of days before the heavier flow comes. I also always get bloated and constipated a few days before hand. Is this normal? I was doing some research on the web and it seems like this could be cause by endometritis (one of the causes for miscarriages). Since I do want to get pregnant again and a successful one for that matter. Are there any kind of tests that I should get before trying again? I just don't want to go through what I just went through again because I am not sure that I can handle it. The doctors says that they don't do any kind of testing until you have miscarried 3 or more times, that's a lot of sadness and heartache to go through. I just like to be more prepared and give my baby the best chance of survival if I do become pregnant. Thanks in advance.
