hodgepodge of symptom questions

I was wondering if this any of these things has happened to any of you, and, if so, could you clue me in as to what it might be??

- First off, I have been having right-side pelvic pain post-ovulation for two cycles. My MD sent me for a pelvic (both transabdominal and transvaginal) ultrasound last 5 days ago. The US tech asked me if I could be pregnant, but I don't know why - ultrasounds aren't dangerous to a pregnancy, so the questin seemed odd (the answer, BTW, is that pregnancy is unlikely but not impossible). My MDs offica has not yet called with results, but I obtained a copy of the radiologists report today. Basically, everything normal except a small amount of free fluid in the pelvis. I have not been able to find out what that might mean.

- I was/am due to start my period anywhere between yesterday (Monday) and Thursday. The right-side pelvic pain has been really bad today, and this morning when I used the bathroom, there was purplish-tinged cervical mucus when I wiped (sorry if TMI). I thought it was the beginning of my period, but so far there's been nothing else.

- I took a HPT this am, but the results were weird - there was a faint second line until about 5 mins into the test; it started fading and by fifteen minutes was gone completely.

I've had two children, so I'm usually pretty in tune with my body and cycles, but I have NO CLUE what could be going on right now. If anyone has had any experience with any or all of the above, please let me know! TIA
