As for the test, without knowing when you expected to start your period, it is hard to say. I personally don't know if I would trust a dollar store test but maybe someone here has had a reliable experience with such tests. If you are near a Wal-Mart or a Target, the tests there are very reasonably priced and I would think possibly more trustworthy.
