Re: Loss of One Twin & Odds Remaining Baby Will SurviveFrom: Abbey (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 11 Sep 2003 17:22:00 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, Valerie and Dr. Lapidus. Thanks so much for your replies and good wishes. Since I was preparing for a frozen embryo transfer, I had progesterone in sesame oil on hand. So, my doctor told me to begin IM shots (1/2 cc) beginning on the day that I found out I was pregnant, August 15th. Bfore taking any progesterone, my beta HCG and natural progesterone levels were very good---HCGS, Progesterone.9. I was told that these early levels were very reassuring for the viability of the pregnancy. After taking the progesterone shots for a few days, my levels increased to 39. I didn't tolerate the shots very well and then switched to suppositories. I've been on them ever since and just this week had to switch to Prometrium pills because I couldn't tolerate the suppositories any more. I know that only time will tell and we'll just have to be patient and pray that the other baby will hang in there.
