Vicodin withdrawls while pregnant will it hurt the baby? From: Connie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 1 Sep 2003 22:56:55 -0500 (CDT)
I am scared to death I have been taking Vicoprofen since Feb. from a car accident, once I found out I was pregnant he switched me to vicodin I take more then the prescribed amount like I should for my horrible pains. I want to get off of these badly as I feel I have some addiction from taking them non stop for 6 or 7 months. I am slowly weaning off of them and even now I get some bad withdrawls like restless legs, diarrhea, sleeplessness etc.. I have talked to both my family doctor and my OB about this and they just dont seem to understand I tell them I think I am addicted and they say oh I bet you are no help what so ever.. I dont think I need prof. help as I am strong willed and a strong mind (which I know sometimes help is needed) I just need to know if these withdrawls are going to hurt the baby, I am 8-9 weeks pregnant. Also is there anything I can take that is safe for diarrhea? This stuff is bad stuff and I think there should be a law for how long a doctor can prescribe this stuff! Thanks alot and I dont need a lecture on how addicted I may be I just came here for advice! Connie
