Well, how long has it been since you stopped breastfeeding completely? I stopped breastfeeding my daughter around 13 months (she was nursing at mornings and at nights, then just at nights) and I still produced milk up until I got pregnant when she was 19 months old. Now I still make milk :) just for different reasons. If it has been quite a while, your doctor can run a test for prolactin levels to see if it is abnormal. In the meantime, just make sure that your nipples are not being stimulated at all and I have heard that wearing a snug fitting bra (with breastpads so you don't leak) helps ease the discomfort. I honestly think the longer you continuously breastfeed, the longer it takes to dry up as well. I'd just make an appointment with your regular doctor and take it from there.

Good luck
